URBAN IMPROV: Begins September 28 at 8pm Educational topics covered are prejudice, self-esteem, peer pressure, violence, and fairness. Students explore issues through creative music and acting. Urban Improv explores life skills - problem solving, conflict resolution, decision making, cooperation and leadership; while at the same time, developing academic skills - listening skills, verbal skills, analytical and critical thinking skills.

GIRLS LEAP PROGRAM The fifth and sixth grade girls will begin a program with LEAP after the February vacation. LEAP stands for Lifetime Empowerment and Awareness Program. The Leap Program teaches girls self-defense skills with life skills that help girls become aware of situations that are unsafe and how to handle them. Some of the activities include group discussions on safety, sexual harassment, bullying and saying no in difficult situations. |
